IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William C.
Elich
June 12, 1946 – March 14, 2020
William C. Elich passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, March 14th, 2020, at the age of 73. Bill was born on June 12, 1946, in Chicago, son of the late Robert and Caroline Elich of Park Ridge, Illinois. He graduated from the College of Pharmacy at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, thereby becoming a sixth generation pharmacist in the Elich family. For years he worked alongside his father and his Uncle Fritz at their family drugstore, Northwestern Pharmacy, in Chicago's Wicker Park, and later became sole owner of Peterson's Pharmacy in Oak Park. Bill lived much of his life in River Forest with his first wife, Nancy, and their two sons, Tyler and Cory, and in 2012, married Donna Burquin, his wife for the rest of his life. Bill was a longtime member of both the River Forest Tennis Club and the Ibex Ski Club, as well as an active golfer, fisherman, and world traveler. He and Donna visited Italy, Africa, Mexico, Canada, Alaska, the Galapagos Islands, and especially enjoyed visiting his sons in Texas and California. Bill was fortunate to have many friends, and he valued and enjoyed each and every one. All could attest to his great sense of humor and the fun he found in life. In addition to his beloved wife Donna and sons Tyler (Jaysen) and Cory (Kaitlyn), Bill is survived by his step-daughter, Valerie Burquin, his granddaughter, Annaliese, his sister Betsy (Bill) Vandercook, and nieces/nephew Lisa, Nicole, Hannah and Noah. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Bill absolutely loved the National Parks System his whole life, and should you like to make a donation in his memory, please go to: www.nationalparks.org The Elich Family would like to thank the Oncology Dept. at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Rainbow Hospice, and The Elms Funeral Home in Elmwood Park for their care and support.
