On Sunday, September 27, 2020, Walter F. Coello, loving husband and father of three children, passed away at the age of 75.

Walter was born September 1,1945 in Guayaquil, Ecuador to Carlos and Esther Coello. He was the eldest of all seven siblings. He had four brothers, Michael, Roberto, Paul, and James and two sisters, Alicia and Anna. At the age of twenty-one, he enlisted in U.S Air Force as a Radar technician during the Vietnam war from May 1966 to November 1969 and in the U.S Marine Corps from December 1983 to July 1985. He ended his military service with the Army reserve between 1987 to 1990. Walter was honorably discharged from all 3 Military branches. He went on to receive his bachelor's degree in chemistry from the City Colleges of Chicago in 1988 and married his beloved wife Matilda. They raised one son, Carlos and two daughters, Nancy and Lillian. He was a loving grandfather to his two grandchildren, Juan and Jayden. Walter taught General Education Development (GED) courses at the cook county jail to the inmates and English as a second Language course at Malcolm X College and Kennedy King College from 1984 to 2006. While at the same time working as a sale associate at General Nutrition Corporation from 1984 to 2007. He was a independent scientist and worked in the field of environmental and biochemical toxicology. Walter published six scientific research papers throughout the end of 2016. He was known for his quick wit, infectious smile and his kind and compassionate spirt. Visitation will be held Monday, October 5th, from 4 P.M. to 9 P.M. at The Elms Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 10 A.M. at The Elms Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M.
