Tomasz Sowizral, 72, loving husband to Irena; beloved father to Monika; cherished dziadzio of Charlotte;  supportive father-in-law to James Demory;  dear brother of Andrzej Zassowski; treasured member of the Mazurek family, the Kajmowicz family, the Zassowski family, and the Yates family; and cherished by many extended Sowizral family members and friends in Poland and all over the United States. It is with heavy hearts that we announce Tomasz's passing, a cherished soul whose zest for life and unwavering loyalty enriched the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know him. Tomasz passed away peacefully on 04/04/2024, after a bold battle with Cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family at home.

Born in Tarnow Poland in 1951, Tomasz was always on an adventure.  His early life was marked by a profound sense of ambition and curiosity, meeting life long friends along the way.
Tomasz was a man of many passions, finding joy in European cars, enjoying classic rock music, vintage coocoo clocks but above all, he cherished the time spent with his family and friends. His ability to light up any room with his humor, warmth, and wisdom drew people to him, creating lasting friendships and memories. The joy and pride of his life, were his wife Irena, daughter Monika and granddaughter Charlotte. He loved them fiercely like the Leo that he was. He was a mentor, a confidante, and a source of unwavering support to many.

We say goodbye to a remarkable man who lived life to the fullest, loved without reserve, and whose loyalty and legacy will forever live in the hearts of those he touched. Tomasz, you may have left this world, but your light will never fade.
The family requests attendees to bring any photo mementos or written memories to share with his immediate family to the visitation. Visitation, Wednesday, April 10, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at The Elms Funeral Home, 7600 W. Grand Ave., Elmwood Park, IL. Funeral Prayers to begin at 11:30 a.m. the same day with Funeral Mass to follow at 12:00 p.m. at St. Francis Borgia Church. Interment will be private.
