Thaddeus H. Stefan, born May 12, 1984, at rest September 24, 2026 at the age of 42. Beloved husband of Lauren; adoring father of Liliana and Nico; loving son of Ken and Mary Stefan; cherished son-in-law of Phyllis Mascio; dearest brother of Pauline and Martha (Eric) Gieras; fun uncle to Victoria Gieras; dear nephew and cousin to many, friend to all.

Thaddeus was an exceptional father and devoted husband whose greatest pride and joy were his children, Liliana and Nico. He treasured being a father and embraced every opportunity to be present in their lives, making memories with them and watching them grow. Lauren was his beloved partner, and together they shared a love that was reflected in the beautiful family they built. Thaddeus found happiness in the simple moments of family life, whether gathered around the barbecue, cheering on the University of Michigan Wolverines, or enjoying Dave Matthews Band concerts with Lauren. Above all, his family was his world, and the love he had for Lauren, Liliana and Nico was at the heart of everything he did. Though his time with them was far too short, the love, lessons, laughter and countless memories he gave Liliana and Nico will remain with them always, carrying his love forward for generations to come.

Visitation, Tuesday, September 29, 2026 from 3 to 8 p.m. Funeral Prayers will begin at 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at The Elms Funeral Home 7600 W. Grand Ave. (turn north at 76th Ave.) Elmwood Park to St. Celestine Church, Mass 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, IL.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the education fund for Liliana and Nico would be appreciated.
