Raymond Rozenski, age 83, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025, in Chicago, IL. Raymond was born April 29, 1941, in Chicago IL. on S. Western Ave. and W. Washburne Ave. One of four sons of Harry and Olga (Leschina) Rozenski.
Raymond served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war 1967 & 1968. He received both an expert marksmanship badge and a sharpshooter badge, good conduct citation, and a purple heart. This is the highest unit accommodation given in the U.S. Army.
Raymond went to work for UPS in 1969. After working there for over 30 years. Ray retired in 2002.
Raymond is survived by his sister: Olga (Rozenski) Spaeth and husband Terry Spaeth, Niece Debra (Rozenski) Stingley, Nephew Walter Rozenski, ex-wife Gloria Kindlund and her daughters; Gabriella, Marguerite, Julieta, Michelle.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Harry W. Rozenski and Olga (Leschina) Rozenski, brothers: William Rozenski, Harry W. Rozenski, Victor Rozenski, nephew Harry Rozenski Jr.
Raymond has always been a private and reserved person. He's faced many trials in his life. Serving in the military during the Vietnam war. Struck by a car in 2017 while crossing the street, causing life threatening injuries. The passing of his three brothers. Ray was fortunate to have the support of his neighbors, friends, and family.
Visitation will be 4-9 pm Thursday, March 6th, 2025, A service will be held at 10:00am Friday, March 7th, 2025, at the Elms Funeral Home, 7600 W. Grand Ave. Elmwood IL. After the service he will be laid to rest at Elmwood Cemetery 2905 Thatcher Ave., River Grove, IL.
