Raymond D. Flakus, Sr. “DaOldRB”, age 79; beloved father of Raymond D. Flakus, Jr. (Rebekah), Jennifer Waldack, and Brian (Julie) Flakus; devoted longtime partner of Char Soyer; former husband and dear friend of Lilly Flakus; loving grandfather of Samantha (Eric), Daniela, Sydney (Alec), Raymond III, Robert, Ryan, Brandon (fiancée, Tess), Christopher, Jaxon, Joseph, Jesse, and Jayden; cherished great-grandfather of Franklin and Anna; dear brother of Barbara (the late Hillary) Howard.

Raymond was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He honorably served as a combat medic during the Vietnam War and was awarded two Purple Hearts for his bravery and sacrifice.

Family and friends are asked to meet on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at the main entrance of St. Joseph Cemetery, 3100 Thatcher Avenue, River Grove, Illinois. Military Honors and Graveside Interment Services will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Raymond's name to the Hines VA Medical Center would be greatly appreciated.
