IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Nora T.
Walsh
February 27, 1921 – August 26, 2024
Nora T. Walsh, Beloved wife of the late Michael J., Devoted mother of Bridget (Walter) Trojan, Kathleen (Scott) Faucett, Daniel (Eleanor) Walsh and the late Michael J. Walsh. Cherished grandmother of Michael Trojan, Alisha Trojan, Dan (Mandi) Walsh and great grandmother of Parker Ellis Walsh and Ryan Dunaway. Dear sister of the late Dan, John, Mary (Con), Jerry, Paddy, Peter O'Sullivan and Bridget "Bridie" (Dee) McQuinn. Sister-in-law of Philomena O'Sullivan. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Born on February 27, 1921, in Annaghmore, Headford, County Kerry, Ireland, to Daniel John and Catherine (Murphy) O'Sullivan, Nora met her future husband in Listowel, where she worked as a bookkeeper. She agreed to follow him to America with the understanding that she would decide within a year whether to marry him or return home. They married in 1951.
Nora, a shy, sweet, and loving mother and grandmother, became an American citizen in the 1950s. She lived in Chicago until moving to Elmwood Park in 1978. Nora had a deep love for her family, friends, and garden. She had a special fondness for cats and dogs. Nora found solace walking to daily Mass at St. Celestines and later daily Mass and the rosary on YouTube, with a particular affection for the Catholic Mass from The Shrine of Our Lady of Knock in Ireland, celebrated in both Gaelic and English, which evoked cherished memories of her childhood.
