Michael Stevenson Smith "Smitty" was born June 1, 1968 in Omaha, Nebraska.  After a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, Michael passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on November 18, 2022. He is the cherished son of Janet and the late Thomas; beloved husband of Juliana da Silva; loving father of Miles and Samantha; loving step-father of Luca and Benjamin; dearest friend to many.  Michael graduated from the University of Missouri, Columbia and had a fulfilling career as a fundraiser for many charitable organizations.  Above all, he was a passionate musician.  Playing rock and roll drums brought him great joy, and making music with the people he loved brought him the greatest joy.   Memorial gathering, Thursday, December 1, 2022 from 5 to 8 p.m. with reflections at 6 p.m. at The Elms Funeral Home 7600 W.
