Michael D. Chidester, 69, died April 1, 2023 from complications of Alzheimer's Disease. Mike was born in Chicago as the seventh of nine children of Thomas and Mary Chidester, and is survived by his sisters Mary (George) Nix, Carol (Reno) Bracci, and Dorothy (Guy) Ebenhoeh; his brothers Thomas (Marilyn), John (Becky), and Edward (Maureen); his goddaughter Jeanne Carlisle, and many other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters Joanne (Jerome) O'Connor and Patricia Rose. The family is grateful to Ellen Ryske for her kindness during Mike's illness.

Mike graduated from St. Viator Elementary School, Lane Tech High School, and the University of Illinois. He was a talented engineer that could troubleshoot and fix anything mechanical. For over 20 years, he ran a small business that rebuilt die casting and plastics machines.  "Precious" was an excellent cook and thoroughly enjoyed making Thanksgiving dinner on his own from scratch. He loved chocolate and fresh coffee. He completed dozens of triathlons, has a special gift in training his German Shepard, and pioneered midnight croquet.

A celebration of life is planned with interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery.
