Martina Mendez

Martina Mendez, 87, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, great-aunt, and lifetime member of the Chicago First Spanish Church of the Nazarene.

Martina was a wonderful aunt who was deeply loved and cherished by her family. She was a kind and compassionate woman who never hesitated to give of herself to others. She generously shared her time, energy, and love, always making those around her feel cared for and remembered. Her church was more than a place of worship to Martina; it was a cherished part of her life and a community she loved dearly. Her gentle spirit, giving heart, and unwavering love for her family will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be on Thursday, September 17, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at The Elms Funeral Home, 7600 W. Grand Ave., Elmwood Park, IL 60707.

Funeral service will be the following day, Friday, September 18, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. at The Elms Funeral Home with procession to follow to Mt. Olive for committal services.
