Martha Perez, age 82, passed away January 22, 2021.  She was born January 18, 1939 in Sugar Land, Texas to the late Antonio and the late Juanita Reyes.  Beloved wife of the late Ismael Perez; cherished mother of Lillia (Robert) Alfaro, Carlos I. Perez and Jose (Gricelda) Perez; loving grandmother of JuanCarlos Alfaro, Daniel Alfaro, Angelica Maria Alfaro, Caesar Perez, Yesenia Perez, Lilliana Perez, Alejandro Perez, Marisol Perez and Natalia Perez; great grandmother of Fabian Michael, Stella Lucia, Noah Peter, Robert James and one on the way.

Martha dedicated her life to her family.  Her strength, wisdom, beauty, courage and humor will be greatly missed.

A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held from 3-8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at The Elms Funeral Home, 7600 W. Grand Ave., Elmwood Park, IL.  A Mass to honor both Martha and Carlos Perez will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at St. Benedict Parish, 2215 W. Irving Park Rd, Chicago, IL 60618. Only 75 guests are allowed in at St. Benedict Church for the Mass. If you plan to attend, please contact Yesenia Perez at 708-307-5563 one day prior to the Mass. For contract tracing measures, the church needs a complete list of names and phone numbers of all guests. Masks are mandatory for the service.

Due to current health mandates, everyone is asked to be patient and abide by the number of visitors allowed inside the funeral home. Only 25 guests are allowed in the funeral home at a time. Everyone is welcomed, but we ask that you keep your visit short so that all who wish to pay their respects will be able to do so. The coffee lounge is closed; no food or drink is permissible.  Please note that all visitors are required to wear face masks to enter the funeral home.
