Maria Carmela DeRango, nee Dato, 93, born in Cosenza, Italy. Long time resident of Elmwood Park, Illinois and Jupiter, Florida, passed away on February 19, 2024. Maria loved her family and welcomed everyone into her home with a big smile and a spread of food. On any given day the kitchen was full of people eating as mom was cooking on the stove and baking in the oven. It was the perfect setting for long conversations and laughter.

She is survived by her beloved husband Eugene; loving mother to John (Carol), Maria (Ralph) Lippiello; cherished Nana to Ariana and Gia Lippiello; beloved sister of Louis (MaryEllen), Mario (Elaine), sister-in-law Maria Dato, and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents Filiberto and Raffaela, her beloved siblings Franco (Maria), Anna (John) Lementavich, Cristofaro "Joe" (Estera), Orlando (Adelina) and Silvio Dato.

Visitation, Sunday, March 3, 2024 from 4 to 9 p.m. Funeral Prayers will begin at 9:15 a.m. on Monday, March 4, 2024 at The Elms Funeral Home, 7600 W. Grand Avenue (turn north at 76th Ave.), Elmwood Park to St. Celestine Church, Mass 10 a.m. Entombment All Saints Cemetery.
