Luz Elvira Alvear Valencia, age 90, has gone to accompany the Lord on September 14, 2021.  She was born January 25, 1931 in Mulalo, Ecuador; the daughter of the late Miguel Angel and Maria Ercilla Alvear.

Beloved mother of Hernan Alvear and Daniel Chacon; loving grandmother of Rodrigo, Miguel, and Cynthia; dear great grandmother of Alexia, Milanasia, Yasmin, Nehemiah, Rozlyn, Michael Julian, Logan & Rhea.

Luz immigrated to the United States in 1981 to help raise her grandchildren, and since then continued her role as the Matriarch of the family. Luz will be remembered for her remarkable strength, loving demeanor, selflessness and feeding everyone who walked through the door.

Visitation will be held from 3 - 9 p.m. on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at The Elms Funeral Home, 7600 W. Grand Ave, Elmwood Park.  Funeral Prayers 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, September 22 at the funeral home to St. Sylvester Catholic Church, 2157 N. Luz inmigró a los Estados Unidos en el año 1981 a ayudar a criar a sus nietos, y desde allí continuo como matriarca de la familia.  Luz será recordada por su gran fortaleza, amoroso comportamiento, inmenso corazón y siempre queriendo brindar un plato de comida al que entrara por la puerta.

La visitación tomara acabo de 3 – 9 p.m. el Martes, 21 de Septiembre, 2021 en la funeraria, The Elms Funeral Home, 7600 W. Grand Ave Elmwood Park.  Oraciones serán a las 10:15 a.m. el Miércoles, 22 de Septiembre, 2021  en la funeraria, a seguir su Santa Misa en St. Sylvester Catholic Church, 2157 N.
