Karolina Hendrika Sandoval (nee Bednarczyk), born September 29, 1954, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026, at the age of 71.

Beloved wife of 53 years to Francisco; devoted and loving mother of Marcos, Alicia, Louis, Carlos, and Eric Sandoval; cherished grandmother and great-grandmother of many. Dear daughter of the late Joannes and Wilhelmina Bednarczyk (nee Otten); dearest sister of Francisca (Robert) Madden and Theresia (Thomas) Killian; loving sister-in-law of Silvia Sandoval, Eva Sandoval (Enrique Perez), the late Jorge Sandoval and the late Teresa DeAnda

Karolina was a wonderful wife, a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and the heart of her family. She embraced life with joy, warmth, and generosity, and her love for her family was evident in all she did. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were blessed to know her.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 23, 2026, from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Prayers will begin Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 9:15 a.m. at The Elms Funeral Home, 7600 W. Grand Ave. (turn north at 76th Ave.), Elmwood Park, proceeding to St. Cyprian Catholic Church for Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment is private.
