Karen Wdowiak, 71, of Chicago, passed away peacefully with family by her side, on September 10. Loving wife of Thomas of 51 years; adoring mother of Tiffany (Michael) Flanagan, Bradley (Kriti Jauhar) Wdowiak, proud grandmother of Caitlin (Matthew) Karol, Ethan, Liyan; caring Great Grandmother to Mildred Rose; fond sister to Alan (Sandra) Stone; cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews and other extended family members.
She is preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Adele, and her younger brother Mitchell.
Karen thoroughly enjoyed being a grandmother and great grandmother, while showing the kids her passion for arts and crafts, gardening, and sewing. In what little downtime she left herself she could be found with a good book or catching up on current events with the news. Karen will foremost be remembered as the most loving grandma and great grandma.
She was an avid animal lover; dog grandma to June and Mitch.
In lieu of flowers please consider giving a plant that can live on in memory of Karen, or a donation in her honor to The American Diabetic Association, St. Jude Children's Hospital, or the ASPC.
A Visitation will be held, Friday, from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Funeral Prayers, Saturday, 10:30 a.m. at The Elms Funeral Home 7600 W. Grand Ave. (turn north at 76th Ave.) Elmwood Park. Mass of the Christian Burial, 11:00 a.m. at St. Celestine Church, interment to follow at Maryhill Cemetery, Niles.
