Joyce Darlene Swanson, born February 10, 1948, has passed away on April 8, 2021.

Joyce was the devoted wife of Selman B. Ajdari; loving daughter of John H. and Aileen V. Swanson; daughter-in-law of Bajram and Fekria Ajdari; sister to the late Joan D. Sibbald and recently deceased Robert J. Swanson (Sharon).

Joyce worked as a medical transcriber for 30+ years and retired in 2007 from Lutheran General Hospital. She had a love for crafting, enjoyed watching sports and had a passion for old classic movies.

Joyce was survived by her children; Selema (David), Selvia, and Selman, Jr. (Zara). She was the Nana to Olivia Nicole, Matthew David, Kaia Jazmene, Laela Joyce, and Ronin Ryker. Joyce was the loving Aunt to Don, the late Susan, Lori (Rick), Great Aunt to Ricky (Christina and Violet) and Bobby. And a cousin to many.

Joyce was an incredible woman with a smile that could light up a room. She was dedicated to her husband and children in all aspect of their lives. She is an irreplaceable fixture in our hearts, who will be loved and missed by her family and all who knew her.

A Memorial service will be held at St. Mothers Theodore Guerin Parish (3020 N. 76 th Court, Elmwood Park, IL 60707) at 10:00am on April 24 th , 2021.
