Jim was born in Chicago on October 5, 1942, and passed away peacefully April 2, 2022, after a very brief illness.  Jim was the wonderful husband of the late Charlene (Virgo). He was the best big brother to Peggy (the late Larry) O'Donnell.  He was predeceased by his parents Walter and Eligia (Cummins) Burris and his sisters Mary Ellen (Dave) Henders and Suzanne Corcoran and niece & Goddaughter, Katie Corcoran.  Jim is survived by nieces and nephews, Maureen Maslauskas, John (Cindy) Corcoran, Debbie Henders Fini, Elizabeth Corcoran, Lynn (John) Matos, Peggy (Dave) McDonnell, Danny (Jaime) Winters & Margaret (Carter) Belrose, great nieces and nephews Julie, TJ & Sam Maslauskas, Bridget, Colleen & Conor Corcoran, Kameryn, Nicolas & Jake Fini, Johnny (Alicia), Emily & Brandon Matos, Sean & Ryan McDonnell, Matthew Corcoran, Melissa & Danny Niehoff, Suzanna Johnson, Jordan & Ryan Winters and Maddie, Nick & Gabbi Belrose and great great nephew Jovanni Matos.

Jim was a die-hard Sox fan, a Packers fan (unfortunately) and loved to golf.  He enjoyed spending time at casinos, going out to dinner, and always being around his family.  He loved family parties and was always the first to show up, usually early. He especially loved watching Bears games with the family, so he could remind us how bad ownership was.  He could dish it out and he could take it, and he sure took it during those games.  Jim told you how it was and he was stubborn, but he would do anything for family and never said goodbye without an I love you. He had a huge heart, and we will all miss him so much.

Visitation, Saturday, from 9 a.m. until time of prayers, 11:15 a.m. at The Elms Funeral Home 7600 W. Grand Ave. (turn north at 76 ^th Ave.) Elmwood Park to St. Celestine Church, Mass 12:00 p.m. Interment Maryhill Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, a donation in Jim's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Camp Out From Cancer would be appreciated.
