Ismael "Junito" Cortes Jr., 52, loving father of Christian N. Cortes, Crystal D. Cortes, and Nicholas J. Cortes; grandfather of grandbaby soon to be  Leonidas; cherished son of Lydia & Manuel Oquendo and the late Ismael Cortes Sr.; beloved brother of Lydia Ramos, Hector Cortes, Mirna Oquendo, Damari Oquendo, Edwin Cortes, Emanuel Cortes, Yesenia Cortes, Damary Cortes, and Orlando Acevedo; devoted uncle of Miguel Angel Ramos III, Manuel Ramos, Jailene Cortes, and Destiny Oquendo; great-uncle of M.J. Ramos; Godfather of Christian Ortiz, Adam Vargas, William Vargas Jr., and Johnny Jimenez; treasured nephew, cousin, and friend to many.

*Due to current health mandates, everyone is asked to be patient and abide by the number of visitors allowed inside the funeral home. Only 10 guests are allowed in the funeral home at a time. Everyone is welcomed, but we ask that you keep your visit short so that all who wish to pay their respects will be able to do so. The coffee lounge is closed; no food or drink is permissible.  Please note that all visitors are required to wear face masks to enter the funeral home.*

Visitation will be on January, 6, 2020, at The Elms Funeral Home 7600 W. Grand Ave., Elmwood Park, IL, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral service will be the same evening at 7:00 p.m.
