Psalm 116, verses 7-9:

Return to your rest, my soul,
for the Lord has been good to you.

that I may walk before the Lord, in the land of the living.

With a profound sense of loss and love, we announce the passing of Graciela Gonzalez, 96,  beloved wife of Jesus Gonzalez Sr., cherished daughter of Francisco Rocha and Maria Mendez and sister to five siblings, all who have preceded her in death. Born in San Luis Potosí, Mexico on May 11, 1929, Graciela welcomed her seven children, Rebeca (Javier), Hugo (Lynn), Graciela (Ramiro), Jesus (Maria), Rocio (Jose), Veronica (Antonio) and Rafael (Maria), in Mexico before immigrating to the United States in 1965.

In Chicago, she became the proud grandmother of 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren and always concerned herself with the health, well-being and happiness of her family. Her memory lives on in them, woven into their hearts and the traditions they cherish. Favorite memories include raucous Christmas celebrations at her home, filled with laughter, music, food and fun; daily walks with her adored dog, Lobo; and watching her welcome the new generations of her family.

She will be remembered as a woman of profound strength, faith, and resilience. Her presence will be dearly missed, and her life honored forever.

Visitation will be Monday, December 15, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at The Elms Funeral Home, 7600 W. Grand Ave. (turn north at 76th Ave.), Elmwood Park. Family and Friends to meet, Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church, 1850 N. Hermitage Ave., Chicago for the Funeral Mass that will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private.  For more information, call 708-453-1234.
