Geraldine "Gerrie" Lustro (née Wasilewicz), passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at the age of 87. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles J. Lustro, with whom she shared a loving marriage that started in 1956.

Geraldine was the devoted mother of Barbara Lustro; a treasured cousin to Rosemary Johnson and godmother to the late John Sajdak, with whom she spent countless hours playing fiercely competitive games of Scrabble — a hobby she approached with wit, strategy, and joy. Gerrie was the dear sister of the late Ronald Wade; a cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews, each of whom she held close in her heart.

For 24 years, Geraldine dedicated her time and talents to the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) at Triton College, where she made meaningful contributions and lasting friendships. She also served as treasurer of ARCC — the Active Retired Senior Citizens Club — offering her energy and organizational skills to help others in her community.

A woman of deep faith and quiet strength, Geraldine was a devout Catholic whose generosity knew no bounds. She lived her life with compassion, humility, and a giving spirit — always willing to offer more than she asked for in return.

Geraldine will be remembered not only for her warmth and devotion, but for the gentle humor, kindness, and love she shared so freely with those around her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family, friends, and the many lives she touched.

Visitation, Sunday, August 3, 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Funeral Prayers, 11:00 a.m., at The Elms Funeral Home, 7600 W. Grand Ave. Elmwood Park, followed by Mass of Christian Burial, 11:30 a.m., St. Cyprian Church, 2601 Clinton St. River Grove. Interment at St. Adalbert Cemetery, Niles.
