Frederick "John" Blessing, 71, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2024, in Chicago, IL. Born on October 14, 1953, in Toledo, OH, John was the beloved son of Fred Blessing and the late Shirley Stocking. John was a longtime resident of Downers Grove, and recently spent the last three years in Elmwood Park.

John was the dear brother of Stephanie (Ken) Helms, Christian (Cynthia) Blessing, Julie (the late Edwin) Kirtley, Jennifer (Edward) Hartnett, Dwayne Blessing, Terryl (Allen) Ferdinand, and the late Timothy Blessing. He was also a cherished friend of the late Carol Anderson and a devoted companion to his beloved cat, Daisy.

A man of many talents, John was a registered piano technician and proud member of the Piano Technicians Guild. His love of music and singing was evident in his performances with the group The New People from Joliet, IL. Professionally, John was a devoted registered nurse who found his calling in hospice care, providing comfort and support to countless families during their most difficult times.
