Eugene A. Fahey, beloved son of the late Eugene J. and the late Rose Mary Fahey, nee Sullivan; cherished brother of Cecelia (the late James) Osborn, Brendan (Carolyn), Mary (Jerry) Hughes, Paul (Stephanie), Eileen (Steve) Boffa, Peggy (Bob) Larson and Christine (Dr. Tom) Rudek; loving uncle of James and Elizabeth Osborn, Kayleen (Chayanne) Martinez, Joseph, Bridget (Matthew) Malmberg, Annie (Cheng Xuan) Lim, Caroline, Jillian and Brendan Fahey, Aidan, Kateri, Quinn and Tim Hughes, Emily (Jamie) Kujawa, Erin, Mary and Tessa Fahey, Rita, Tina, Julia and Genna Boffa, Madi (Trevor) Adams, Ben Larson, Olivia, Grace (Jack Anderson, fiancé), Lily and Joe Rudek; great-uncle of Ariella, Amaya and Penelope Martinez, Cora Kujawa; dear nephew and cousin to many.

Gene was a Purdue University engineering graduate and he spent many rewarding years as an electrical engineer at Tripp Lite/Eaton before retiring. He took great pride in his work and in the career he built. He remained a devoted son to his parents and lived with them until their passing.

He found joy in the simple pleasures he loved most—cheering on the Cubs, Bears, and Bulls; attending Catholic high school football games; listening to his favorite music; adding to his collection of vinyl records; building and tinkering with model machinery; keeping up with the latest science fiction; loved going to movies, photography and gardening. He was a devoted brother to seven siblings, a beloved uncle to many, and a treasured lifelong friend.
