Elvira "Nena" Pichel Yu, 91, of Lake Zurich, Illinois, peacefully passed away on December 2, 2024. Born in Zamboanga City, Philippines, on April 17, 1933, she was the cherished daughter of the late Antonio Villascuza Pichel and the late Milagros Sanson Pichel.

Elvira was the beloved wife of the late Manuel Tan Yu and a devoted mother to Mary Christine Yu-Mendoza, Margaret Yu Arroyo, Mary Ann Yu Cervantes, and Michael Yu.

She was a loving grandmother to Rameses, Bonaparte, Aubrey, Valerie, Camille, and Dominique. A proud great-grandmother to many.

She is lovingly remembered by her siblings, Gloria Pichel Mara and Carlos Pichel, and is reunited in eternal rest with her late brothers Ramon Pichel, Antonio Pichel Jr., and Manuel Pichel.

Elvira's life was a testament to her faith, love for family, and dedication to those she cherished.

Elvira will be Lying in State on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass, 11:00 a.m., at St. Cyprian Church, 2601 Clinton Street, River Grove, IL 60171.
