Cynthia Jane Caterer loved glitter, which pretty much sums up who she was as a woman. With a contagious enthusiasm you couldn't ignore, she walked through life loving those around her and thoughtfully giving them anything she could think of (or find at a thrift store). Her absolute favorite thing was spending time with family, and if she couldn't do that in person she would send them a home made card crafted by her own hands. Cindy had a vivacious personality at the core of which was a beautiful positivity and optimism that was displayed throughout her life and her illness. Her immense generosity was fueled by thoughtfulness and an enthusiasm for things her loved ones were doing or needing. She was always the first person to give people a hug and tell them she loved them. Aside from all of that, she was just fun. Cindy made every holiday and family event a special occasion. She was crazy for Christmas and decorated no less than four full trees with hundreds of ornaments while displaying countless festive decorations and collections and holiday crafts, and she did all of this while wearing a purple sequined hat.

Cindy was born and raised in St. Clair, Michigan, where she graduated salutatorian of her high school class, and earned a degree in Education from Central Michigan University. She taught Special Needs students for many years, was a card- carrying member of the Vince Gill Fan Club, and was an active member of Unity of Fox Valley.

Cindy was the beloved wife of the late Cran Caterer, loving mother of Matthew (Jenny), Joshua (Stefanie), and Eli (Jasmin). Beloved sister of David (Sue), Larry (Guillerma), Kenny (the late Cristi), and Margaret (Jim). Dearest Grandma of Elliot and Phoebe, and fond Aunt of many nieces and nephews. Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, June 2 at the Elms Funeral Home, 7600 W. Grand Avenue, Elmwood Park, IL from 1:00- 3:00, with a Service at 3:00P.M.
