It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved grandmother, Cira Ravelo, on August 3, 2026, at the age of 102. Born on June 1, 1924 in Guines, Havana, Cuba. Cira was the daughter of Manuel Artiles and Caridad Vallina. As a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Cira was the foundation of our family, providing love, wisdom and comfort to all who were blessed to know her.

Cira, a devoted Catholic is survived by her daughter, Madelin Casas, grandchildren, Eliana (Elias) Mitropoulos, Enrique (Natalie) Casas, and Roberto Casas, and her great- grandchildren, Dimitri Mitropoulos, Christian Mitropoulos, Vanessa Mitropoulos, Catalina Casas, and Geovany Casas. 

A visitation in celebration of her remarkable life will be held on August 20, 2026 from 4:00-9:00 pm at The Elms Funeral Home; 7600 W. Grand Avenue, Elmwood Park, Illinois 60707. 

In Catholic tradition, a Vigil service will be performed at 6:00 pm.

Our beautiful “Ita” will be missed dearly, and we are comforted knowing that her love and legacy will live on in all of us. Her spirit and unconditional love will continue to inspire us and give us strength. Rest in eternal peace.
