Christine Loretta Boehm Mrozek, age 92, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2025 in Riverwoods, Illinois. Born in Richardville Township, Minnesota, on September 4, 1932, Christine spent most of her life in Chicago, Illinois. A proud graduate of Von Steuben High School, she went on to build a beautiful life and legacy filled with family, creativity, and laughter.

Christine and her late husband, Edwin F. Mrozek, were the heart and soul behind Frosty's Grill on West Irving Park Road in Chicago, which they ran together for 34 years. The grill became a neighborhood staple, known as much for its warm hospitality as for the food they
served.

Christine was a woman of many talents. A gifted illustrator and a creative spirit, she had an eye for detail and a love for crafting. She was especially known for her hand-sewn Barbie Doll fashions—so impressive that Mattel once reached out to her about her designs. She poured the same care and artistry into crocheting and quilting, often showcasing her work at craft fairs, including her line of handmade children's pajamas. A devoted gardener and skilled with a sewing needle, Christine brought beauty and joy into everything she touched. Christine had a gift for storytelling and was always ready with a joke to share. Her warmth and wit will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She will be lovingly remembered by her four children: Michael Stanley (Merilee) Mrozek, Cynthia (Bob) Parris, Catherine (Mitch) Litrofsky, and Karen (Daniel) Goral; her grandchildren Kristyn, Nick, Adam, Sam, Michael Edward, Erin, and Max; and her great-grandchildren: Lyla, Tatum, Abigayle, Cullen, Ewan, and Tabitha. Christine's legacy lives on in each of them, and in the countless lives she brightened with her humor, creativity, and mischievous laugh.

Visitation, Saturday, April 12, at The Elms Funeral Home, 7600 W. Grand Ave. (turn north at 76th Ave.) Elmwood Park, from 10:00 a.m. until the service begins at 12:00 p.m. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Belmont & North Cumberland Avenue, River Grove, IL.
