Carmen L. Cruz, 87, beloved mother of the late Darbis Abreu, Edwin (Maria) Abreu, Minerva (the late Raul) Garcia, Dilan Abreu, Victor (Silvia) Abreu, and Eleanor Abreu; cherished grandmother of Yesenia, Jacqueline, Darcie, Eleanor M., Nino, Che, Rauli, Amanda, Cynthia, Andrew, the late Christina, Cathy, Ishaly, Imani, Isaiah, Evita, Alyssa Abreu, and Marc; loving great-grandmother of Darbis, Triston, Gregory, Everly, Joshua, Jaiden, Janadea, Edwin Francisco, Lucas, Mateo, Sabrina, Biance, Ariana, Amiah, Mariah, A.J., Mason, Camila, Jose and Elijah; great-great-grandmother of Stella.

Carmen was one of thirteen children in a loving family. She was a hardworking mother of six children with whom she dedicated her life to. She was known for her famous arraz con gandales and being the best domino player in the family.

Visitation, Sunday from 3 p.m. – 9 p.m. Funeral Prayers, Monday 10:15 a.m. at The Elms Funeral Home, 7600 W. Grand Ave., Elmwood Park, IL 60707 with Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 11 a.m. at St. Williams Church. Interment to follow at Maryhill Cemetery.
