Obituary

Carlos I. Perez, age 58, passed away January 22, 2021.  He was born October 27, 1962 in Chicago, IL, to the late Ismael and Martha Perez.  Carlos was a proud veteran and enthusiastic commercial driver for the CTA. He was a true rock n roller and man of faith.  Beloved father of Caesar Ismael, Yesenia Nichole, Lilliana Victoria and Alejandro Miguel; loving partner of Marguerita Skala; proud grandfather of Fabian Michael, Noah Peter and Bobby J; proud dog grandpa to Roxie, Star and Nova; loving brother of Lillia (Robert) Alfaro and Jose (Gricelda) Perez; loved father-in-law of Janine and Matt; adored uncle of many.
Head up, shoulders back, hold the line, keep the faith.

A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held from 3-8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at The Elms Funeral Home, 7600 W. Grand Ave., Elmwood Park, IL.  A Mass to honor both Martha and Carlos Perez will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at St. Benedict Parish, 2215 W. Irving Park Rd, Chicago, IL 60618. Only 75 guests are allowed in at St. Benedict Church for the Mass. If you plan to attend, please contact Yesenia Perez at 708-307-5563 one day prior to the Mass. For contract tracing measures, the church needs a complete list of names and phone numbers of all guests. Masks are mandatory for the service.

Due to current health mandates, everyone is asked to be patient and abide by the number of visitors allowed inside the funeral home. Only 25 guests are allowed in the funeral home at a time. Everyone is welcomed, but we ask that you keep your visit short so that all who wish to pay their respects will be able to do so. The coffee lounge is closed; no food or drink is permissible.  Please note that all visitors are required to wear face masks to enter the funeral home.
