Brian A.
Skupien
February 18, 1967 – December 2, 2023
Brian Skupien passed away peacefully on December 2, 2023 at the age of 56 surrounded by the love and comfort of his family and friends. Brian, a devoted companion to Lori, a cherished son to Carol, and a beloved brother to Jeff, left us after a life well-lived.
Brian dedicated a significant portion of his life to his work at Mercury Plastics, where he exemplified unwavering commitment and professionalism. His contributions to the company were marked by diligence and passion, leaving an indelible impact on his colleagues and the organization.
Beyond his professional life, Brian's heart beat to the rhythm of music, particularly the soulful melodies of the electric guitar. His love for music was a constant source of joy, and he shared this passion with those around him, creating lasting memories at live music events. Brian was more than a friend; he was a beacon of warmth and camaraderie, someone who reveled in the company of others and made every gathering a celebration.
In addition to his musical interests, Brian was captivated by sleight of hand magic, the enchanting art of illusion. He especially loved Penn &Teller's "Fool Us." Brian also had a love of pets, especially his min pin companion Vinny and has joined his former feline companion, Mabel. His enthusiasm for these pursuits reflected his vibrant personality and eclectic tastes.
Brian touched the lives of many with his infectious laughter, genuine kindness, sarcasm and unwavering support. His departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, but the memories of his love, laughter, and shared moments will forever be etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of Brian's life will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at The Elms Funeral Home 7600 W. Grand Ave. (turn north at 76th Ave.) Elmwood Park from 1 p.m. with a Service at 6 p.m.
