It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Andrea Velez, 89, a beloved longtime resident of Elmwood Park. Andrea passed away peacefully on March 29, 2025.

Andrea was the loving mother of Lourdes Soto, Noemi Agudo, and her late sons Gaspar Velez and Roger Velez. She was also the cherished grandmother of Sammy, Hector, Phillip, Evelyn, Jackie, Marilyn, and Jocelyn. She was a proud great-grandmother to Johnathan, Sophia, Caelyn, Jaylani, Hailey, Luchiano, and Filippa.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband Gaspar Sr., her sons Gaspar Jr. and Roger, her parents Ramon and Sabina, and seven of her twelve siblings.

Andrea was known for her warmth, kindness, and the love she shared with her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Visitation, Friday, April 4, 3:00 to 9:00 p.m., Funeral Service, Saturday, April 5, 10:00 a.m., at The Elms Funeral Home, 7600 W. Grand Ave., Elmwood Park. Interment to follow at Maryhill Catholic Cemetery, Niles.
